From Wedding to Adventure

It all begins with an idea.

This is the standard Squarespace spaceholder. And I like it because most things start like that. My business started with an idea too:. to become a wedding photographer. Right, the big ones with a ballroom full of guests, giant cakes, loud music and longs nights. And because a lot of people marry, there will always be business and because they spend a lot of money on weddings, there will be money to be made for photographers too.

A couple of years ago and I put all my effort into building up a portfolio, designing my website and of course connecting to my future target group by joining about 10 facebook groups for brides-to-be. After a few model calls and photographing weddings of friends, I got more and more comfortable working with couples and in bigger events and shot my first wedding.

At this point; i want to pay my respect to all the wedding photographers out there. It’s a damn hard job. I don’t want to bore you with all the little details but I still remember every minute of this day. And my mind started wandering: is this really the right fit for me?
Me as the outdoorsy person who prefers no make-up and Birkenstocks over hairspray and high heels. Who loves personal contact a lot more than a chaotic 200 people party. Who only ever sacrifices sleep if theres some outdoor activity or good lighting for photos involved.
The answer was not exactly.

Long story short: after rebranding two times, three different logos, multiple websites and instagram profiles, I have figured out where my heart lies. I finally feel like I can pour all the effort and energy into this because it appears to be a logical extension of me. Not just a business idea where I hope to earn the most money while being creative. But because it’s something I am passionate about. To be active outdoors while using my skills to help other brands and businesses to tell a visual story about their vision. I believe images play a big role about how a brand or business is perceived and how important high-quality photography can be.

This is to the next few years of pouring my soul into this venture and I’m beyond excited to see where the journey leads. I would love for you to follow along and please feel free to get in touch in case you feel like it.

P.S.: I loved to work with each and everyone of the couples and want to show some of my favourite images below! Thank you all for the trust and support 🫶🏻
